I'm The Webmaster

I myself have many expressions and opinions about punk music and the community. I myself could probably fill up this website with my knowledge and opinions. I have alot to say but little time to say it. If not it is to complexed or confusing to understand (remember it's from my head). I won't state all that I have to say but only a little. This site wasn't created about me it was created about the punk community. Alot of the points said on the opinions page are pretty much how I feel. I only have a little to say because I don't want to repeat what has already been stated. People say I'm very contradicting about my beliefs and opinions, but everyone in the punk community is very contridicting. I haven't met one person with a solid point. I myself know I don't have a solid point but I do express what I belive in, and isn't that what punk is about. Expressing what you believe in. Oh well, Here we go on the trip into my mind and my opinions.

The current form of punk is in fact punk. The music has changed and people will have to deal with it. I'm not saying that I like this "new-wave" of punk and I'm not saying that I don't, but it's music and of course music is going to change over the years. The music in which people are saying is punk would be The Misfits, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, etc. And yes they are punk. They are pretty much the creaters of the whole genre. But that was 25 years ago and you can't expect music to stay the same. This music evolution has done as much for punk as the Ramones ever did. Being the first doesn't make you the best, or even a good common denominator for other bands. You just can't compare what has been to what is, and what will be. You take things as they come.

Today I was walking around when I heard someone yell "Punk rock is freedom." This phrase has been moulded into my head since I started listening to punk. It's been around for years dating back to the late 70's when sex pistols, the new york dolls, the damned etc. ruled the genre. But this time it go me thinking. Is punk rock really freedom?, or is it made up of rules just like everything else in this desolate world. We all say there is no rules to punk but if you think about it there is, otherwise there could be millions of teeny boppers out there matching up with the likes of you or me . There are rules for dressing punk, there are rules for listening to punk, there are rules for moshing, there are rules for playing, there are hundreds of minoot rules that may only come to play once in a blue moon but they are still rules. If you don't believe me next time you go to a show dress in an I heart Punk t-shirt. Sporting converse shoes, with a Sum41 hat on, and then tell me that there are no rules in punk. Punk Rock is freedom! or is it really Is punk rock freedom? you be the judge.
